About me

Hello, my name is Mayra Garza and I am the school counselor for Three Mile Creek Elementary. â€‹Ms. Garza was born and raised in Mexico. She finished her Bachelor's degree in Psychology at the Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon. Ms. Garza is licensed in Psychology in Mexico. Ms. Garza began her teaching career in 1996. After taking a break from teaching and dedicating her life to rise her three kids she returned to what is her passion, "education". After many years of teaching, she returned to school to obtain her Master's in School Counseling. 

When Mrs. Garza is not at school you may find her busy with her kids ages 24, 22, and 20.  Mrs. Garza loves reading novels, eating with her children and friends, and enjoy exercising.

¡Hola! Mi nombre es Mayra Garza y soy la consejera escolar de la escuela primaria "Three Mile Creek". Ms. Garza nació y creció en México. Ella termino su carrera de Psicología en la Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León. Ms. Garza está Certificada como Licenciada en Psicología en México. Mrs. Garza inició su carrera profesional de enseñanza  en el año 1996.  Mrs. Garza tuvo un periodo donde se dedicó a sus tres hijos. Posteriormente, Ms. Garza retomo su pasión que es la educación. Y con eso, obtuvo un Mastria en Consejeria Escolar. 

Cuando Mrs. Garza no está en la escuela tú la puedes ver ocupada con sus tres hijos con edades de 24, 22 y, 20 años. Mrs. Garza le encanta leer novelas, salir a comer con sus hijos y amigas, y disfruta el ejercicio

I would be able to help students with:

 

  •  Promoting positive attitudes among students towards self, family, peers, and community.

  • Assisting students in learning how school performance relates to future opportunities.

​

  • Developing and delivering classroom guidance lessons that teach skills such as decision making, resolving conflict and respecting others.

​

  • Working with students, parents and school staff to identify learning needs and to design interventions to enhance student success.

​

  • Helping students to recognize and make the best of their abilities.

​

  • Providing support during a personal crisis. 

​

  • Working with students on attendance issues.

​

  • Inform parents/guardians about outside agencies.

​

  • Developing student career awareness.

​

  • Helping to create a safe and positive learning experience.
